Our Staff

Karla Elias is the proud mother of two young girls. Elli her first born is attending a Spanish Immersion School in SE Portland and Maya her youngest is enrolled at Uno Dos Tres Academy. She has been married to her college sweetheart for 7 years, but they have been best friends for many more.
 
Karla comes from a devoted family that taught her to pursue her life’s passion, so at an early age she took the steps necessary to follow her life’s dream. While attending college she worked as a teacher for many child care centers and head start programs. She graduated from Portland State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Studies, specializing in Early Childhood Education. Karla has taught parenting classes for low income families, has worked with special needs children, and has assisted families with state programs.

Karla's dream has been to open a high quality and safe preschool for young children to learn, play and develop all their senses. She believes that all children have the ability to excel in anything that they do, if they are provided with a welcoming and nurturing environment, and have age appropriate curriculum and materials.

The teachers at Uno Dos Tres Academy are all passionate about providing young children with a high quality preschool experience. Each teacher brings with them many years of experience working with children, their own special talents, and the love that makes a teacher unforgettable. The teachers are all fluent in Spanish and most of them are native speakers. Each teacher has a biography posted in their classroom that details their experiences, education, and pastimes.
